By Train

Edinburgh's Waverly Station [map] is slap-bang between the Wedding and Reception venues.

The wedding venue is about a five-to-ten minute walk from the main entrance of Waverly station.
Leave Waverly by one of the big road ramps at the main concourse. Go left. Go over the roundabout and all the way up Cockburn Street. Go right. Parliament Square is on the left side of the High Street just before the next crossroads.

The reception venue is about a five-to-ten minute walk from the back entrance of Waverly station.
Leave Waverly by the steps and bridge beside platform 2 past the lost luggage kiosk (not the steps/escalators at the main concourse). Go straight ahead under first an old stone bridge then a fancy metal bridge. Keep going past the offices and just past the cinema complex. Overtures is on the right hand side next to The Playhouse Theatre.

Alternately just get a taxi, there should be plenty in the station.

By Car

Parking in Edinburgh is neither cheap nor easy. Best bet is the Greenside Place NCP carpark [map] which is a couple of minutes walk from the reception venue and a ten-fifteen minute walk (or 5 min bus journey) from the wedding venue. It costs about 16 pounds to park for 8 hours. The lifts take you to Leith Street.

Alternately park all day at the Newcraighall Park-and-Ride [map] for just 50p and get one of the half-hourly trains that run between there and Edinburgh (10 min journey, last train back to Newcraighall leaves Waverly at 23:33 though timetable may change by then). Return tickets are about 5 pounds per person.

Travel Between Wedding And Reception

The reception venue is a ten-minute downhill walk from the wedding venue and the bride and groom (and entourage) intend to walk between the venues.
However, there will be limited seats available on the coach for those who do not feel up to the walk (or who's fancy shoes just can't take it).
